We believe you can't out-give God

Support the work BattleCreek Church is doing in local communities and around the world through giving.

Ways To Give

One of the most helpful ways to support the mission of BattleCreek Church is by setting up a recurring gift. When you give consistently, it allows our church to plan wisely, steward resources effectively, and stay ready to meet needs both locally and globally.

Recurring giving is simple to set up and easy to manage. You'll receive an email confirmation for every gift, which not only helps you keep track but also serves as a regular reminder of your commitment to worship, faith, and generosity.

What We Believe

At BattleCreek Church, we believe giving is first and foremost an act of worship. Every good thing we have comes from God, and generosity is one way we respond to His goodness.

We believe the tithe is a biblical and foundational part of spiritual growth. Tithing means giving the first ten percent of our income to God through the local church. It’s one of the ways we learn to put God first, trust Him with our finances, and grow in faith.

Beyond the tithe, we participate together in special offerings and moments of generosity throughout the year. From summer initiatives to Christmas and end-of-year giving, each gift helps more people of all ages advance in their journey with Christ

Rhythms of Giving

While the tithe is our consistent rhythm of generosity, we also believe there are special moments when God invites us to go above and beyond with our finances. These moments are opportunities to stretch our faith and respond to the unique needs God places in front of us. At BattleCreek Church, we set aside two intentional times each year to give in a way that makes a significant impact both inside and outside our church family.

Tithe

The tithe is a biblical principle of returning the first 10% of our income to God through the local church. Tithing is a way we put God first in our finances, trust Him as our provider, and fuel the ongoing ministry of BattleCreek Church across all our campuses and online. When you give your tithe, you’re helping kids, students, and adults hear the gospel, grow in their faith, and live on mission every week.

Summer Offering

Each summer, our Summer Offering helps fund camps designed specifically for kids and students. We believe the next generation matters deeply to God, and we want them to have every opportunity to know Him personally. Your generosity helps create those moments. It may look like a student choosing to follow Jesus at camp or a child hearing about God’s love in a way that makes sense to them. Every offering opens the door for life change and helps shape a foundation of faith that can last a lifetime.

Christmas Offering

At the end of the year, we come together for our Christmas Offering. For over 22 years, this offering has been a defining part of how our church steps into a new season with vision and faith. It’s a time to reflect on the gift of Jesus and respond by giving toward what He is calling us to in the future. These offerings have fueled Outreach initiatives, supported ministry growth, and allowed us to meet needs in our community and beyond. As Paul encouraged the early church, we want to “excel in the grace of giving” (2 Corinthians 8:7), trusting that God will use our generosity to change lives.

End of Year Giving

Many people choose to make special gifts at the end of the calendar year. These gifts help us finish strong and position the church for ministry in the year ahead.

If you give from investments, retirement accounts, or other non-cash assets—or if you itemize your deductions—recent federal legislation called the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBA) includes changes that may affect how your 2025 charitable giving is treated for tax purposes starting January 1, 2026. Below is a summary for awareness. Please consult your tax or financial advisor for guidance specific to your situation.

End of Year Giving

The information below is for general educational purposes only and is not intended as tax or legal advice. Please consult your tax professional for guidance related to your personal situation.

Due to the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBA), the following changes will apply beginning January 1, 2026, and may impact how your 2025 end of year charitable giving is treated for tax purposes:

  1. 0.5% AGI Floor for Itemizers
Taxpayers who itemize will only be able to deduct charitable contributions that exceed 0.5% of their adjusted gross income (AGI). Example: If your AGI is $100,000, only charitable gifts above $500 could be claimed as an itemized deduction.
  2. Universal Deduction for Non-Itemizers
Taxpayers who take the standard deduction (non-itemizers) will be able to deduct up to $1,000 in cash donations for single filers or $2,000 for married couples filing jointly. This deduction only applies to cash donations made directly to operating charities. Contributions to Donor Advised Funds (DAFs) are not eligible for this new non-itemizer deduction.
  3. Cap on Deduction Value for Top Earners
For taxpayers in the highest federal income tax bracket (37%), the tax benefit of all itemized deductions—including charitable contributions—will be capped at a 35% tax rate.
  4. Carryovers Subject to New Floor:
Any unused charitable deduction amounts from 2025 that are carried forward into 2026 will also be subject to the new 0.5% AGI floor described above.
